Key Moments of Learning
2006
It all started with an elementary school talent show...
While it may not seem like a moment of drastic leadership, my hasty decision to sing at my school's talent show as a kindergartener was the first moment I chose to favor discomfort over comfort, the first time I stepped out of the expectations held by those around me & did something courageous. I still consider this to be the root of my driven personality- once I put my mind to something, there's nothing that can stop me (not even stage fright or tone-deafness).

Dynamic Catholic
Right before I started high school, a Catholic company called Dynamic Catholic reached out and wanted to profile my journey of faith. Being vulnerable about my struggles and eventual conversion on camera wasn't easy, but as someone who still prioritizes my faith in everything I do, I am so grateful I got the chance to do so! My boldness as a leader comes from the strength & purpose I find in my religion to this day.
2018
Colorado Public Television Debate
As a high school senior, I was chosen as one of eight students across Colorado to compete in a televised debate series. I had gone to state in Lincoln-Douglas debate twice, mentored my peers, and won several debate tournaments. I considered myself to be a reliable and confident debater, ready to face any competition. But you don't win every debate, especially when you trip over your words in a live taping surrounded by new faces, cameras, and lights. This was my first public loss, and one I learned a lot from. Debate is where I learned that you can never be too prepared or too researched- lessons I carry with me in every job, interview, and project.

Director of CORPS
As the Director of the CORPS (Community Outreach & Recruitment of Prospective Scholars) for Presidents Leadership Class, I've had the opportunity to seek out students from across Colorado who would thrive in a top-tier undergraduate leadership program. I absolutely love leading a team of PLCers, partnering with organizations and high schools around our state, and interviewing applicants who will form our future cohorts. Being intentional about increasing diversity, whether it be of thought, race, gender, socio-economic status, religion, etc, is something that gives the CORPS team motivation and pride in their work. We've navigated through one of the hardest times to recruit post-COVID and could not be happier with how our next PLC cohort will turn out.

Senior Class Council
Coming into this role unsure of what I should be expecting or focusing on led to a fairly rough start. With the help of my CSI advisor, Britt, and Vice President, Jacob, Senior Class Council has re-established itself as an integral part of commencement and the senior experience at CU Boulder. We have chosen commencement speaker, Tom Costello. We have hosted a plethora of interactive senior events such as our first annual Pearl Street Senior Stroll, Yoga for Diplomas, Senior Class Grab & Go Breakfast, and so much more. Our work to raise money for the Senior Class Gift, the Seniors Creating Future Buffs Scholarship has exceeded expectations. We are so proud of the work we have done and excited for what is to come. My leadership skills & capabilities have been tested alongside my stamina and perspective. I have learned so much & am eager to continue to grow in this role!
